Senior BJP leader from Tamil Nadu CP Radhakrishnan will be the new Governor of Jharkhand. CP Radhakrishnan is one of the most senior and respected leaders of BJP in South India. He was twice elected to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore. He was also the state president of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit. Presently CP Radhakrishnan is a member of the National Executive Committee of BJP. He was also made in-charge of Kerala by the party leadership. He was also the President of All India Coir Board from 2016 to 2019. In the 2004, 2012 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections also, he was made the BJP candidate from the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat. But did not win. However, without an alliance with two big parties of Tamil Nadu DMK and AIADMK, he secured second place by getting more than 3 lakh 98 thousand votes.

CP Radhakrishnan was born in a simple family on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu. At the age of 16 i.e. in 1973, he joined the RSS. Later he joined Jansangh and joined active politics. After this, after the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts, he won the elections twice from the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat. He won in 1998 by more than 1.5 lakh votes. Whereas in 1999 he was victorious by a margin of more than 55 thousand votes. He studied at VOC College Tuticorin. His family background is that of a farmer family.
