In 2009, BJP’s he entered politics. He contested and won from the parliamentary seat of Godda in Jharkhand. Dubey retained the seat in the 16th Lok Sabha elections and is currently the Godda MP.

Prior to his foray into politics, Dubey served as a director at Essar. political events 2014 He retained the seat in the 16th Lok Sabha election defeating Furkan Ansar for the second time. 2009 Dubey was elected to 15th Lok Sabha from Godda, Jharkhand where he defeated Furkan Ansari of INC by a margin of 6407 votes.
